You host a wine club party at your home or business and I come to you. You give me an idea of the average taste your group has and I help expand their horizons. Private club parties are for groups of 4-30 people and we purchase enough wine for everyone to try. We discuss acid, body, tannin, region, varietal and I answer general winemaking questions. The important thing though is this is meant to be fun and approachable. There are no stupid questions, and no one will be made to feel their likes/dislikes with the selected wines is right or wrong. By the end of the evening I can give you recommendations based on what you enjoyed so the next time you go to a store or winery you can feel a bit more confident about choosing from the menu or talking to the people working there.
Wine dinners can be an incredible experience. They can also be very expensive and pretentious. As a kid that grew up in Philadelphia I can tell you that I always felt out of place in fancy places and although I got better at pretending I was comfortable over time- I still prefer unpretentious any day (even though I'm a sommelier). So whether I'm introducing wine pairings at The Lizard Creek Inn Bed & Breakfast OR you would like have your own dinner at your home with a few friends, I can help you choose a style, pairing, and will come and introduce the wines to your group. This works best in a small and manageable setting 4-12 people, but if you have a larger group I can add on another sommelier to assist me so nobody is left out!

I've met a lot of home winemakers while working in the wine industry and I've enjoyed helping them out with everything from yeast selection to blending percentages for their final products. I'm here to answer your questions and schedule permitting even assisting in aspects of your production.
Here are some photos from my time in the wine industry
